A statistical study showed that during the period between May 5 and May 16, Italy will witness a decline in new cases of Coronavirus infection in all parts of the country, to reach zero.

The statistical report conducted by the Inaudi Institute of Economics and Finance (Eief), based on daily data on the announced pandemic outbreak until March 29, provided estimates of when the incidence of infection fell to zero for each region.

The report stated that the region of Trentino Alto Adige will be the first at the national level that will witness the zero cases on the next April 6, followed by the provinces of Liguria, Umbria and Basilicata, on the 7th of the same month, and the Valle de Aosta on April 8, Puglia on April 9, Friuli Venezia Giulia On April 10, Abruzzo on April 11, Veneto and Sicily on April 14, Piedmont on April 15, Lazio April 16, Calabria April 17, Campania April 20, Lombardy April 22, Emilia Romagna April 28, and finally the province of Tuscany on May 5.
